It rained just after midnight until 1 p.m. today. It was about 40 degrees out. I was hiking in my convertible pants with the legs removed to keep them dry. The trail was muddy and cold if I stopped moving.
Most of the day we were in cold rain and the clouds. No complaints, this is life on the trail sometimes. The rain in part brings life. Found beauty in the day, it felt and looked like an ancient time before humans arrived. The vast majority of hikers also had very positive attitudes. Late afternoon the skies cleared and the sun came out to warm us, it was glorious. I was also able to get in touch with a few people back home, which was really nice.
