I spent about 30 minutes in Gatlinburg in the morning trying to get a hitch out of town and back to the AT at Newfound Gap. Then a hiker (Cyclops) and his father stopped and picked me up and a guy I was hiking with. So awesome and thankful.
Most of the day was in the clouds hiking, but it was relatively warm, which I appreciated. Many amazing views were missed, but I am sure many more lie ahead. The clouds literally did part some, so I was not denied views totally.
Made it to Tri-Corner Knob Shelter for the night. Hiked 15.1 miles.
I downloaded a book called Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. I will read that at night in my tent some each night. I downloaded one other book (The Gifts of Imperfection) too, that I will get to. Thanks for the recommendations.
Your pictures are awesome!

Thank you Hans! I wish you the best and thanks for following. I will do some reading when the thunderstorms roll in here pretty soon.

I’ve been meaning to tell you, Jason – that picture of Katahdin on the top of your blog, is the best I’ve ever seen. It really looks nice. It’s got the most bright color I’ve ever seen.

I just plucked it off of Google images. I have never seen it in real life yet.

Well, I’ve seen it and climbed it… and seen it from a distance too. Maybe the google image was touched up a bit, who knows.

Hmmm….Walking around in the fog, welcome to my world!
It’s really amazing that you can get such interesting pictures with the lack of foliage and sunlight, it draws you in, and invites you to look more closely.
Have a great day.
