I hiked about 22 miles today from Deleware Water Gap. I am at a camp site in the woods today.
This morning I hiked along an interstate highway and over the Delaware River. It was a little foggy at first. Some roads were flooded from heavy rain overnight. Not a drop of rain while hiking though. The traffic on the interstate bridge, its noise and its speed made me unsettled and most pleased when I got away from it. I left Pennsylvania and entered New Jersey in the morning. For me, it was a big milestone. PA is known for its rocks, aggressive snakes and lack of views generally. I enjoyed PA, but I was there long enough. I also passed the 1,300 mile mark early this morning.
The trail was still fairly rocky in New Jersey, but the rumor is the trail gets real good again in a few more miles.
Today, a lot of the hiking was on rocky ridgeline that had pretty good views. I like Jersey so far.
I stopped off at the AMC lodge for a fresh made sandwich at lunch time. It was just off the trail and worth it.
I kept on hiking after that.
Saw a fair amount of wildlife today.
At the end of the day, just after finishing dinner a thru hiker named Rocket Chip Cookie shows up. He has a fresh full peach pie with him and he shares it. YUM. What a way to end the day.
The Blue Rocks are in PA so guess you won’t see them now. I was going to post a picture of them, but it looks like you have hiked over rocks enough! NJ is fun too. Almost moved there some yrs. ago. Long story. Have a great hike. I am going to suffer withdrawal, you know, when you stop leaving these posts to brighten up my day. I just hope yours is as great. Still, I love the flower shots.

Nice photos of a cloudy morning over the Delaware River, then the sun came out and more good photos -including the nice shots from along the ridgeline… love those ridgeline hikes! Congrats on the new state to hike, and breaking the 1,300 mile mark!

Amazing and congrats on 100 days! You’re a rock star. heheh pun intended.
Thanks for keeping up the photos. I can sense you’re sometimes tired, but thanks for doing it. You have really grown into your beard. LOL 🙂
I wonder how long it will take you to get used to the bustle of St. Paul when you get back. Maybe you will decide to pack up and move to the country and live in the woods. I highly recommend it. The commute sucks, but when you get home to the woods it’s all worth it.
Happy 100!!! YAY
