    I plan to hike north bound starting on Jan 1st 2019. I am from upstate NY and frequently hike in the winter. By winter I mean -10F . I hate hiking in the hot humid weather. It appears you must have started in winter. Any issues with that?

      I started in Early March It was winter conditions for sure. Blizzards, ice storm, then cold rains and hypothermia conditions. If one is prepared you will survive, might not be comfortable though. Good luck and enjoy your hike.
